After all the thrashing and smear campaign this woman received from all over, like everyone else, I was really looking forward to hear what she would say at her acceptance speech at the GOP convention. And what do you know… Sarah Palin blew me away! She was just spectacular! Wow! This lady is a champ. The sleeping giant has awoken and came out swinging!

I do not really like talking about politics on my blog but she was just so awesome last night and thought deserved a mention at least. Sarah Palin, from a laughing stock to a shining star. I just love it when underdogs rise up and defend themselves and also come out victorious.

A new computer

Well, the time has finally come to replace my old computer. It is really ancient at 6 years old and the hard drive is about to go any time now. I really have to get a new computer before this relic dies on me.

For my new computer, I will build it myself this time. I have already put together my shopping list at TigerDirect.com but my total amount kind of scares me so I have not checked out yet. The total in my shopping cart right now is $2,022.07! :dead: This already includes shipping though and no tax as I am in California and TigerDirect.com do not tax California residents.

My computer parts shopping list:

Originally, I had a Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 1TB hard drive in my cart but reality set in so it was downgraded to what it is now. Every little bit adds up. Same thing with the DDR3 rams. Of course I wanted to have the full 8GB DDR3 ram the motherboard is capable of but I had to be realistic…again. Did you see the price tag on those babies? :dead: It can always be upgraded later. I think what I have in the cart right now is plenty good for what I use my computer for and that is browsing the internet, email, playing The Sims 2(soon to be The Sims 3 in the year 2009), Gumdrops paper works and post processing photos.

It would really be awesome to play The Sims 2 in full. With this new computer, that would be easy and no problem at all! It is totally capable of that and more. I always had to play The Sims 2 with only minimum options as my current computer can not handle all features turned on.

I have also thought of getting a Mac computer at some point as some friends seem to be so fanatic about Macs. It did cross my mind for a tiny bit but rejected the idea quickly because it is better for me to be in full control of what components goes in my computer and with a Mac, there is just no way. I do not like Macs that much really, sure I think they are very pretty but that is all I like about them. :) So I pass.

Now if I can only get the courage to click on that check out button.

Blackberry Curve

We went to Best Buy this evening and I got a new cell phone! :yay: It is a Blackberry Curve with T-Mobile service. It is not as nice as Iphone but it will only be for emergency and stuff like when I am driving and I get a flat tire, that kind of stuff. It makes me nervous when driving a ways and I do not have a cell phone in case I need help or something. I already have Itouch and wanted something different too so I decided on a Blackberry. :P

Not sure if T-Mobile is a good company though. I have never used their service before but people say it is pretty good service too. I wanted to get Verizon wireless originally but their minimum service cost $39.95 so I chose T-Mobile instead which is $10 less. :) It comes with 300 minutes/month with unlimited weekends which is really enough for an emergency phone I think.
